Some people believe that tattoos are primarily for vanity. Others see them as life markers. I fall into the second category. Here's my idea for a tattoo: A man piercing a crab (cancer) with a spear, killing it. I don't know where I would have it, although it would probably be on my back, maybe on my side. I don't know anything about tattoos, except that it might be appropriate here. Also since my head seems a little mottled, I felt that it might be neat to have some kind of design on my head.
If you are an artist that feels like designing one of these things for me, please contact me with your art! We'll see what you come up with, and what I like.

I love my tattoos. There wasn't any reason to get them, except the actual real-time experience of having them done - "art", afterall is always in the doing and not in the done so much. The one on my arm took well over two hours - fascinating to watch my skin marry the design.
Anyhoo. That being said, I urge you to think very hard before you get one - esp. considering what it is you want to commemorate. It's not as though anyone will ever forget how brave you are being... I, for one, think of it almost daily. ;)
