Peach Fuzz

| | Comments (2)
Have you noticed that peaches aren't as fuzzy as they were 15-20 years ago? Have people been working on peaches to make them less fuzzy and more appealing? Does anyone have any data on this?

I know that peach trees only live for 20 years, and that when they introduced a less fuzzy peach(they actually invented a machine to rub off the fuzz), sales shot up. They figured this would happen because when the nectarine came out, (one gene different from the peach) which has no fuzz, sales were through the roof. (This is taken from the latest edition of Joy of Cooking.)

Am I insane for knowing this?
