Two entries in one day. Feast on the prolific prose.

Just read a couple of Minderella's entries about hooking up and expressing sexual power and so on. At one point she said that "i have never been the girl to walk right up to the best looking guy in the bar and then make it happen".

I really don't know what she looks like, but from what descriptions I can recall she's pretty easy on the eyes, is intelligent and has, as she said, a certain amount of self-confidence. So from my perspective, it seems like a no-brainer that she can walk right up to the sexiest guy in the bar and make it happen. I am not surprised if she can get a guy to pay $200 to get ahead in line to go to a club, and then want to leave that club within minutes if it means a real shot at fucking her. Really, how much respect can a guy that throws around money like that deserve? I don't care how rich he is.

The point is, sadly, is doesn't take much of anything to get a random guy to do ridiculous things because they sniffed nookie in the air. It's no wonder that some enterprising women believe it entirely appropriate to pinch a boy (pretty hard) on the ass. Or grab an acquaintance's dick because, hell, he's got one. Guys welcome sexual attention.

It's not every day that men get approached respectfully or otherwise by genuine, attractive, well-adjusted, women. Or by any kind of woman, really. I guess that's why men will jump at the chance whenever it is presented. We need love, too, right? And that is why some aren't taken seriously when they feel violated in some ways. Yes, there are two or three people in particular who I am thinking of.

An attractive woman can go into a bar and at least get the positive attention of most men there with little effort (and the scorn of many women, through little fault of her own). Even average women don't do too badly. An attractive man might have to be more imaginative. And average guys, well, they have to take a lot of chances. And they, too often, don't have a lot of good ideas except to try, try and try again. Or come up with bullshit gimmicks, antics and stories.

Of course, I know that everyone has their problems, and that everyone has tasted rejection or defeat. And I don't mean to suggest anything bad about Minderella or Odalisk at all. I am simply expressing amazement that there are fine women like these two who find it a triumph that they got strange men to go to bed with them, or do extravagant things, or put even up with less-than-honourable behaviour if it comes to that. It's like being amazed that a dog will always have more food, especially human food. It's pretty obvious. I'd be a bit more impressed if they were guys picking up women. That's more like getting a cat to jump into a bathtub full of water. Or sing.

Now if the target is a person you actually like, or love, then it's a different story entirely. This playing field is more even, I would think, and I can't say that there is a clear advantage for men or women. And that is a whole other discussion.

jonas: thanks for all the mentions in your entry. i'm flattered. would you mind changing my real name to "minderella" when you link to it? i have google paranoia... click here for the pharmacist article.. but it's been everywhere, even on CNN. i didn't "get" that guy to pay the $200 for the club, i was just surprised when he did. probably because we were both kind of toasted. it was just a typical vegas one-night-stand deal... and i am always flattered when attractive guys take an interest to me. contrary to the general assumption that all men always want sex, i don't actually get hit on that often. i don't go clubbing that often, though, so maybe that's why it seems like a big deal when i do go clubbing and stuff happens. maybe if i went out all the time i'd get over it. if you wanted to know what odalisk and minderella look like, there's a cute picture here on a night when we were out on the market but nothing really happened. i'm on the right. anyway, thanks for reading.
